Chris Tourlakis, also known as Mr Blink is a portrait photographer, cinematographer and film director.
Born and raised in Thessaloniki, he completed his professional photography studies in NYIP (New York City, US).
He made several exhibitions, in Athens and Thessaloniki, Greece and participated in many international contests, mostly for portrait photography and film direction.
Among other activities, Chris Tourlakis was the lead photographer in Off Broadway's theatrical production "Aeschylus' Oresteia", directed by Leonidas Loizides, in collaboration with the Hellenic-American Cultural Center & Museum, that runed in several theatrical stages in US, including New York's off Broadway Stage "Kirk", awarded by UNO and nominated for several other awards.
He was the official photographer for Terrence McNally's "Corpus Christi" theatrical play in Athens, Greece, 2012, directed by Laertis Vasiliou and also the official photographer for the play "Cavafy: The Constitution of Pleasure", in collaboration with the National Theatre of Northern Greece (N.T.N.G), directed by Giorgos Kafkas, in Thessaloniki, 2013.
At September 2014, Thessaloniki Cinema Museum hosted his photo exhibition "We Are Here Too" ("Είμαστε κι Εμείς Εδω"), a work still in progress, followed up by a documentary film that he directs, that will be released in 2015, that is about gay activists in Greece.
At the upcoming N.T.N.G. production "Don Quixote" by Mikhail Bulgakov, a theatrical play directed by Yannis Leontaris, Chris Tourlakis signs the photographs the tv trailer and the short film that concerns the play.
His short film "The Pelican Dance" is one of the 20 short films that selected worldwide to participate in Loikka Dance film festival, at Helsinki, Finland, at 2015.
Chris Tourlakis is based in Greece (Thessaloniki & Athens), but travels worldwide on request.
